Y-3 Gendo Superstar

Y-3 shoes with a bold silhouette that experiments with negative space.

One of the most advanced and daring Y-3 profiles to date, the Y-3 Gendo Superstar shoes are designed with a fully hollow space in the midsole. They take to heart a philosophical Japanese concept called Ma, which explores how a pause in time or negative space can generate beauty in a way that isn't absent of anything at all, in the end. The bold expression contrasts with cues from classic archival shoes, the adidas Superstar shoes — one of Yohji Yamamoto's favourite silhouettes. A smooth, premium leather upper with a leather and suede lining sits atop the EVA midsole, and Yohji Yamamoto's signature signs off as a final touch.
